Best Village Award for Business in the Community in South England 2005 – Alan Titchmarsh presents this prestigious award to Dick Smith, Phil Bates & Peter Hatch with Howard Kerr, Managing Director of Calor

After winning the best village in Hampshire award for 2005 Grayshott representatives couldn’t believe it when for the second time they went on to take the award for best village in the business category in South England.

Dick Smith, Phil Bates & Peter Hatch attended the awards ceremony held on Tuesday 6th December at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mayfair and were presented with a framed certificate by TV gardening personality Alan Titchmarch and Howard Kerr, Managing Director of Calor who sponsor the awards.

Grayshott won the same accolade in 2002 and also picked up the overall award for England and Wales.

Other local winners were Selborne who won the ICT category, Thursley the Environment category and Northchapel the Young People award.

Overall winner was Ashover in Derbyshire and Alan Titchmarsh jokingly warned them to brace themselves for a rush of tourists.

Grayshott will now take part in next years “Best of the Best in Britain” awards organised to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the CALOR sponsored village of the year awards.
