Following a Buy In Grayshott (BiG) Members meeting held on Tuesday 15th March, the decision was taken to suspend activities until further notice, giving members an opportunity to regroup and look at creating a new platform in which to celebrate and promote the award winning village of Grayshott.
BiG was formed by a small group of villagers nearly twenty years ago to promote Grayshott to a wider audience, which until that time had been a well kept Surrey/Hampshire secret. Some of those members remain today but with a rise in social media and the advent of Internet exposure and forums, it was felt by both the committee and members that a new positioning is needed. In fact much of BiGs original remit is now laudably covered on the villages own website, Grayshott.com
The current committee stood down with Vice-Chair, Ian Gough of Keats Estate Agents remaining to oversee the completion of outstanding BiG initiatives, including the handover of responsibility of GIG (Grayshott Illumination Group) to continue with the villages impressive Christmas lights and Grayshott Parish Councils new responsibilities for Grayshott in Bloom annual hanging baskets.
Undoubtedly there will be new groups formed to further promote and represent the many wonderful Grayshott village attributes to include retail, business and the community at large – working cohesively for businesses, the many successful not-for-profit-organisations and residents alike.
