GreenAcres Heatherley Wood in line for a top honour at the Good Funeral Awards 2017
GreenAcres Heatherley Wood has been selected from hundreds of nominees to go through to the final stages of this year’s glittering Good Funeral Awards ceremony at the Porchester Hall in London on Thursday 7 September 2016.
The Good Funeral Awards are now in their sixth year and recognise excellence in the world of funerals, rewarding the best funeral directors and all associated services that are involved in creating memorable funerals. Wholly independent of the funeral industry, the awards are supported by consumer advocates the Good Funeral Guide and the Natural Death Centre.
“The Good Funeral Awards recognise exceptional service to bereaved people from all aspects of the funeral industry and supporting services. By progressing this far, GreenAcres Heatherley Wood has already demonstrated outstanding professionalism, empathy and a willingness to go the extra mile,” said Fran Hall, C.E.O of The Good Funeral Guide, joint organiser of the event.
Brian Jenner, co-organiser, said:
“The Good Funeral Awards recognise all those unsung heroes who work so hard for the bereaved and whose role can so easily be overlooked. Some of the nicest people in Britain work in the funeral business.”
Peter Taylor, Park Manager, said:
“GreenAcres Heatherley Wood is very proud to have been nominated best Burial Ground in the UK and to have become a finalist. The Good Funeral Awards recognises the best of the industry. As Heatherley Wood is very much in its infancy this is a great recognition of the work that we do and the plans in place to create an even more wonderful place to lay your loved ones to rest. The most important aspect of our work is to care and support families at a particularly sad and stressful time. I believe our continued support to families is no less than when we first meet with them. Our 8 acres of meadow land and 4 acre woodland invoke a sense of peace and beauty. So whilst an unexpected nomination, I now hope that we can see Heatherley Wood receive the “Oscar”, for all the hard work and dedication placed into our Park.”
